When the game-hunting season starts in June, Luwire livens up.
Trophy hunters from around the world visit this unique game and hunting reserve on the fringe of Niassa Reserve. The tent-ed camp lodge can only be visited if booked in advance and specifically with the objective of participating in a hunting safari.
Luwire is run by the Rani group, also owners of the famous beach lodge in Pemba bay. The lodge manager is an experienced hunter and wildlife manager who acts as your hunting guide.
The concession to operate Luwire was granted on condition that Rani develop and manage the wildlife and vegetation in cooperation with, and to the benefit of, the local community.
As part of the program, Luwire purchases all its food products locally and assists a honey export project.
